Avalon is a very tall filly, intelligent and inquisitive.  She's blessed with great bone and substance and has her dam's style and her sire's power. We expect Avalon to finish around 17 hands.  She moves like a dancer - grace and power at one time.  Amazing!  Avalon is intelligent, bold and athletic.  Avalon has a great mind - very eager to please when training.   Her pedigree is below.  Visit her foalwatch page!

Avalon is available for sale, to an approved performance home.  Please email for more information.

She is eligible for registry with Shire Sporthorse Registry, International Sabino Registry, American Warmblood, Performance Horse Registry, International Sporthorse of Color .

Updates:
  • 4/13/2003:  Avalon is separated from Sophie for her evening feeding.  She's already been walking to and from the barn/paddock separate from her dam.  She's now accepting the clippers...still doesn't like them!
  • 4/18/2003:  "Mr. Hose" is okay...not her favorite but she's standing quietly on a loose lead line for hosing.
  • 5/18/2003:  Avalon now clips, bathes, gives all four feet.  The trailer is still too scary for her, though!
  • 5/22/2003:  Loaded three times, without a fuss.  Patience pays off again!
  • 11/11/2003:  Working in the round pen with Avalon...she's learning to move off nicely and accept directional cues.  She is exceptionally easy to train and eager to please.
  • 07/21/2005:  Avalon is now working both on the lunge line and on long lines.  Starting to ground drive, she has proven herself to be a quick learner who is eager to please.  She is an absolute joy to train.  She's accepting the bit and is starting to root for it in the long lines.  This is a VERY special filly!
  • 12/01/2005:  Avalon has all the basics now:  leads, loads (show her the trailer and she loads ahead of the handler), lunges (all three gaits, both directions), ground drives (including wearing a full harness), carries a saddle, clips, bathes, gives all four feet.  We're still working on standing quietly (untied) for grooming because Avalon doesn't stand still well yet.  Have started work in hand (starting lateral work in hand - turn on the forehand is solid, turn on the haunches is coming, shoulder-in is starting.)
  • 3/27/2006:  Sitting in the saddle, Avalon is calm and quiet.
